The Process of Teeth Whitening

Teeth whitening offers a fast, non-invasive method to improve your smile. It is a process that restores the natural color of the teeth, or in many cases, just boosts the color of the teeth beyond its natural shade. Almost everyone who chooses a teeth whitening solution sees reasonable to significant enhancement in the glare and whiteness of their smile. There are many teeth whitening techniques offered at our dental office and over the counter.

Laser

Laser teeth whitening is administered in a dental office exclusively, and is the most expensive method for whitening. All forms of teeth whitening work by releasing oxygen ions from a tooth whitening gel, which gently lift stains from the teeth. The laser simply lifts the stains faster. Another advantage of the laser is that (depending on the type of laser used) it can more easily be used to bleach one tooth at a time. This is helpful when one tooth is more discolored than the surrounding teeth.

Opalescence™

Opalescence™ is a chemically activated power whitening gel that provides brighter, whiter teeth after just 40 minutes in the dental chair. The safe, powerful 40% hydrogen peroxide gel is chemically activated, doesn’t require a hot, uncomfortable light to work, and usually takes only one dental visit to achieve desired results.

Take Home Trays

Store-bought teeth whitening products are popular because they can be completed at home. At Lifetime Dentistry of Chickasha, we understand the importance of this convenience, which is why we offer our patients the option of take-home teeth whitening trays rather than our in-office treatment. Our dentist provides these take-home kits, complete with custom-made whitening trays and professional strength gels, formulated to meet your sensitivity needs. Through proper daily use, you can achieve exception results with our take-home teeth whitening kits in as little as two weeks.

Overuse of whitening gels can cause damage to tooth enamel and gums. Since there are many cautions to be taken with all of these procedures, it is suggested that our dentist performs them. Lifetime Dentistry of Chickasha in Chickasha Oklahoma can make sure that the teeth whitening procedure you are looking for is done with quality care.
