When you first call our office, we'll set up an initial consultation for you to meet with our dentist in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. You can ask any questions you have about our dental office, our dentist's experience and training, and the various services we provide. It also allows our dentist to get to know you and understand your unique dental health needs.
If your initial consultation goes well and you'd like to schedule your first official exam and cleaning, our friendly staff can assist. There is a bit of paperwork involved. We ask all new patients to complete these forms, which provides us with your basic information, emergency contact information, and your dental health history. This information is vital to ensuring our dentist can provide you with the best care possible, so please be thorough. For your convenience, you can download these forms at the following link and fill them out at home prior to your appointment. Otherwise, we ask that you arrive at least 20 minutes early on the day of your appointment to complete these forms in our office.
Once our dentist reviews your new patient paperwork and dental health history, your comprehensive examination will begin. Our dentist will carefully examine your teeth, gums, and other oral tissues, looking for signs of tooth decay, gum disease, and other potential problems. Following the exam, you'll receive a thorough teeth cleaning to eliminate any plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums.
When your exam and cleaning are complete, our dentist will take x-rays of your mouth. Our digital x-rays provide our dentist with high-quality images of your teeth, roots, jawbone and more to better identify deep cavities, infections, damage and deterioration. The process takes just a few minutes to complete, and you'll receive the results almost immediately.
At the conclusion of your dental checkup, our dentist will discuss the results with you. If anything was discovered during the exam or x-rays, our dentist may make some treatment recommendations to further improve your oral health. If additional treatments are recommended, we'll also provide you with a total cost breakdown so you can prepare financially.
Our office staff will assist you in booking any future appointments to fit within your schedule. If no additional treatments are recommended, our dentist usually suggests returning in six months for another exam and cleaning.
